Important Changes in IIT-JEE Main 2017

The HRD ministry of India has given some changes in the JEE MAIN pattern for 2017. The ranks in the JEE Main examination will no longer be calculated on the basis of 12th class marks. Candidates wanting admission in the top colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs should have minimum 75% in their class 12th. Admission in IIT, NIT, IIIT and CFTI is also based on the ranking of candidate obtained in JEE Main.SC and ST category would be allowed to get an admission at 65% marks in their class 12th examination. On joining of some states in JEE Main system, there is a change in admission criteria of institution falling in such states. Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Harayana, Nagaland and some other colleges have become a part of JEE Main system. Now, the candidates wanting admission in these State institutes have to fill JEE Main 2017. It can be filled online.

The candidates should have a aadhar card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)–2017, The candidates will be required to type their name, aadhaar number, DOB & gender which will be cross verified with the UIDAI’s data.  If the entries do not match, the candidate’s form will be rejected. In such case, the candidate will not be allowed to sit for the JEE Main exam 2017. Therefore, the candidates should make sure that basic details like name, gender, date of birth as given in school record should match with the aadhaar card. If the information is not matching with each other, the candidates should get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records. Candidates not having aadhaar card can fill the application form of Aadhaar card enrolment. CBSE board has also opened some centres to initiate this aadhar card making process and to provide some assistance to candidates. The candidates can enrolled for aadhaar card at this centres. The candidates can enter aadhar card enrolment id of 28 digits while filling application form of JEE Main even if they have not received their aadhaar card. This changes will be applied to the whole country of India except the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya. The candidates from J&K, Assam and Meghalaya have to enter their bank a/c number, passport number, ration card number and government. They have to give their examination in their states only. The online submission of JEE Main application form has started from 1 December 2016. It can be submitted till 2 January 2017. The last day for submitting the fee is 3 January 2017.
